How it all Started (the short version)

In 2007 my father passed away. Six months later I had my first recorded grand mal seizure. I was rushed to the emergency room because my body wouldn’t stop seizing. During the MRI the doctors discovered three brain tumors. March 2008, I had my first brain surgery cut from ear to ear. Only two of the three tumors were removed the third left on my optic nerve. After surgery everything was different. My senses came alive. I could feel the air, I could see the connections between people, and inanimate objects. I saw everything was atomic in some form. My state of awareness shifted. The MBA grad soon to start law school student was looking at the world differently, and it was weird! Colors were more vibrant, my taste buds changed, my hearing evolved, it was just out of this world.
I quickly returned to my roots, the young girl reading and connecting with the earth. The young girl who collected crystals and burned incense. I began studying again and soon obtained a certification in hatha yoga. I became a certified crystal bowl practitioner, and received partial training in light meditation. I started working with sounds and felt huge shifts in interactions with my surroundings.
There was a moment after the end to a marriage, law school, and a business venture no longer suited the highest good for my time that I needed someone, anyone, to lead me in a yoga class. I asked my friends and everyone was super open and willing for me to come to one of their classes. They were all donation based. I had a choice, $5 for getting to a yoga class which I would have to bring/find a yoga mat, dress in appropriate attire, drive to the studio, or I could take that $5 and walk to the corner store and buy a chocolate bar and some chips and guacamole. I chose the later. At this moment I realized the need that all people, in any circumstance, should be given the opportunity to attend a yoga class for free. That maybe us, as a society could lift each others vibration for a higher good by donating for an hour of relaxation. This yoga that is taught is probably the easiest and yet the most complicated poses that one will ever encounter.
I started Universal Sound and Blissed Yoga with that in mind. My intention is making this type of healing experience available to all communities. Those from diverse communities, underserved populations, and newcomers to the practice. Yoga is more than testing the limits of physical boundaries, it is expanding the image of one’s heart.
Studios nationwide have teamed up with my nonprofit to offer classes. Just look for the USABY logo, and you’ll know the class is open for all. I have received donations of product from sponsors so those who forget to bring their yoga mat have one available for use. To expand the availability of volunteers, USABY provides Frequency Yoga™ training, including the certification of new instructors. The school TSOSAH is currently led by the executive director Amanda Domnitz. My goal is to inspire and encourage learners and teachers of healing sound and movement. I work to make this type of healing experience accessible to all. Frequency Yoga™

What is Frequency Yoga™

Frequency Yoga™ is a unique system that rejuvenates the body, enlivens the mind, and heightens one’s vibration utilizing Restorative Yoga and Sound Techniques.  Two minds came together and conceptualized the need to bring both sound techniques and restorative yoga together. These two minds knew there was something special happening on this planet and there was a need to share Frequency Yoga. The concept derives from combining the tools of restorative yoga and ancient sound techniques into one perfect program. This program is registered with Yoga Alliance.

Frequency Yoga™ combines the beauty of restoration, the simplicity of receiving, and the joy of relaxing with the natural sounds of instrumental tools used by masters to provide rejuvenation to the body.

Opening your body into the restoring poses brings oxygen into areas which may be tight. The oxygen provides a sense of relaxation. The sounds from sacred musical instruments plays to the areas of your body, allowing the body to release. Once the body releases you can receive as you lay in savasana pose and rest. There is no thinking, there is no questing, this is just a matter of being.

The 200 hour teacher training program offers a deeper awareness into the vibratory sound of creation and all of life.

Each student has the opportunity to embark on their own personal sacred yoga journey, experiencing a powerful vibrational tune up for body, mind and soul.

Strengthening your connection on all levels and deepening self-awareness through Sound and Frequency is fun and accessible to all.

We nurture our student’s abilities to tune into the subtleties of sound and teach them how their energetic vibration can be positively activated and enhanced.

We focus on the 7 major energy centers in the body. Using restorative asana practices and specific sound techniques that concentrate on nurturing the tissues to open the body’s electrical system, central nervous system (CNS) and other energetic anatomy, we create a sacred space for rebalancing, greater alignment, and harmony.

Students can experience profound transformation as we help them cultivate and deepen awareness to their own frequency, and how it can be nurtured and vitalized through vibrational care practices and a variety of sound tools.

Our techniques are safe, effective, easy to learn and a blessing to share. They can be used at any age or stage of life from prenatal to end of life care and in any setting from studios, to hospitals, homes and outdoor spaces. No prior experience is necessary, yet this teacher training can be an upgrade to any established teacher’s toolbox. Frequency Yoga is a one of a kind opportunity you won’t want to miss!

Frequency Yoga  instruction is available from our trained students across the nation. Look for the USABY symbol for FREE CLASSES!

Welcome to USABY!

Years ago, I needed a yoga class.

I knew I needed one because I had become a yoga teacher, but needed someone to instruct me. Everything was outside of my budget. My budget was FREE. I then vowed I would provide services to communities without any expectation of return. The only request is we as a community lift each other to a higher place in order to collectively raise our selves to peace.

The creation began. I am thankful for being given this opportunity to share and welcome you to my classes. Whenever you see the USABY symbol, know the class is completely free. All you have to do is show up and receive. Our community has donated for your benefit. All donations are done outside of the classroom. Some programs have selectively added us to their events page. The most up to date events are currently found on Facebook.

I thank my mother for her loving kindness. I thank my son for his participation, phenomenal heart, amazing soul, and absolute peace.  To G-d, I thank you! xoxo
